My friend, Swistle sent me a care package a while ago (mmmmfudgemmmm) and in it was an apron/hat set for TLNG. It was the cutest thing going and I was going to give it to her for a special treat. When I was *so-called* organizing, I put it into her dresser and [forgot to give it to her] saved it for a rainy day.
Tonight, she found it and brought it to me, asking, 'Can I wear this when I bake with you?' And I'm all, 'huuuuuh?' because we HAVE started baking together* but I've never, ever worn an apron. So, uh, hmmm. I'm thiiiiinking? It may be Mr. Fluffy. He wears an apron and hat.
Go Kai Lan!
Anyway.
She was beyond thrilled. And I? Cracked right the hell up.
Here's the 32 seconds of hilariousness. She doesn't say 'Daddy' like that all the time, she was trying to impress, I think. I also don't know what's going on with the 'Taking a Bow' but she's been doing that for the last few days.
Sorry it's so dark, it was close to baby's bedtime and most of the lights were out. She was looking at herself in the hall mirror while she performed.
And you can ignore that pipi dipe in the hallway. It was on its way to the trash when I had the urgent need to film.
*At this point, 'Baking Together' consists of her standing on a chair and continually touching all the ingredients (with her just washed hands, but STILL) as I reprimand and try to measure things and give her what to do so she'll TAKE HER HANDS OUT OF THE FUCKING BOWL OF FLOUR ALREADY.

Love it! When I was young my mom and I cooked with aprons only on holidays so as not to mess up our new Xmas/Easter etc clothes.
Flashforward to a vacation as an adult where I decided to only buy a souvenir that I would USE in the future and wouldn't be just clutter. I chose an apron and I used it as a reminder of one of the frst vacas with my DH. I have since bought other aprons from places I have visted and also have mommy and me matching aprons for when my DD/5 and I cook/bake. She loves it and it makes my heart just melt when she asks to put hers on every time.
Have fun with it!

That was super cute. My kids are also way into bowing. They have (at 3 and 5) started to progress past the getting-in-the-way-touching-everything stage.

My friend MADE my daughter an apron. And then made me one, because I never wear them either, so now I'm wearing them. Peer pressure in my thirties.
And, thank you for making me feel better about my toddler's hands in the flour (and the sugar, and the honey, and the butter....). Mine also wants to taste ev.er.y.thing. Who knew vanilla extract "taste good, mama".

Too cute! And my boys *still* bake with me like that. Clean hands or not, it still feels grubby. Wouldn't have noticed the dipe if you hadn't called attention to it!

A-dorable! My kids have little aprons, too, that their auntie bought for them. And my 2.5 year old also likes to have a feel at everything. She's obsessed with egg shells at the moment.
