The first week in the Couch to 5k training was relatively easy for me to do. For the past few weeks, I'd actually been doing a little MORE than what was called for, and so it was a little dialing things back a bit. (I want to follow the program--for ONCE--and so I'm doing as advised.)
I did the run/walk combo 3 times and then, on the alternating days, I lifted free weights in my basement. I am starting off light--dividing upper/lower body and doing 2 exercises per body part. I'm doing three sets of 10-12 reps each. (I still did a little cardio on those days, just not the precise work out recommended in the C-5k.
It was the same for the second week, really.
Today I did the 3rd workout for the 3rd week annnnnd my hip hurts. It's a nagging thing. Not in the joint but in the soft tissue at the top of my hip. I think, seriously--how sad is this?--I think it's from carrying my Mega-Ton Son in the carrier, over the opposite arm all the time. I think it's aggravated by the jogging.
Anyway.
I would write about all the fucked up body image shit I have going on right now but for some reason, whenever I type it out, I have the barely-controlled urge to rip my computer out of the wall and hurl it out the window.
So, instead, you get the grand Couch-5K report. And how SCINTILLATING a read it is for you. I'm sure that you LOVE being an extension of my record keeping. Amazing how I manage to keep all the advertisers (and readers) at bay.
